Stop And Smell The Roses* | Just Add Ginger

It is very rare to find me in the evenings not sitting on the sofa, watching a film, and burning a candle. Candles are a season-less creature comfort that never ceases to bring an element of warmth and cosiness to the house that just makes me feel all content inside. I am a self-professed candle junkie. I just can't get enough of them And I am always on the lookout for new ones to try.

So when Scentiment Candle Company sent a call out looking to put together a Candle Review Team, of course I had to apply. I waited with baited breath for my first candle sample to arrive. And as soon as that parcel arrived, my excitement levels went in to overdrive.

Roses have been very important to me for a long long time. My grandparents used to have a small patch of roses growing in their front garden. I was very close to them - my grandmother in particular - and every time I think of her, I think of those roses. They are of great sentimental significance to me, and hold a very special place in my heart.

But in my experience, the rose scent is a difficult one to get right. It can either be so overpowering it gibes you a headache, or so subtle you can barely smell it. So as excited as I was to light Scentiment's first sample, I was also a little nervous. Potentially this could be a winner. But would they be able to get it right?!

Now I am very fussy when it comes to the quality of my candles. If one wasn't good, I'd let you know about it. Good quality is very important to me. It's something I don't skimp on when it comes to fragrances of any kind. If something was completely disastrous, I'd be the first to let you know.

So believe me when I tell you that the Rose Garden candle is one of the best fragrance pay-offs I have ever had in a candle. Ever. It took me completely by surprise. It does smell a little intimidating in the tin, but a mere fifteen minutes after it had been lit, our whole house was filled with the most beautiful, soft floral fragrance that created the most comforting ambience. Not overpowering, but drifting through the air like a silent melody, it kissed my nose and brought a smile to my face. It. Was. Beautiful

And accompanying this most welcoming fragrance is the most understatedly beautiful packaging. The rich, almost chocolate brown label trimmed with hot pink for me really emulates a sense of luxury. It isn't too "in your face" or harsh, and easily compliments any décor. I also really appreciate the way that Scentiment have incorporated some typography that underpins the candle having been hand-crafted.

The Rose Garden candle by Scentiment Candle Company makes me very happy. It has quickly become my Summer candle of choice, and I look forward so much to burning it in the evening. I lit it last night, and my living room still has a touch of sweet rosy fragrance in the air! What Scentiment have achieved really resonates with me on a personal level. For someone whom roses hold so much meaning, Scentiment have not only created an amazing fragrance, but a fragrance that takes me right back to my grandparents' garden growing up.

I love this candle. A lot. It really bodes well for the other candles that Scentiment will have to offer. And I'm so happy that I can support a local business in building their brand. It is so important - especially in this day and age - to be able to do that.
*I was very kindly gifted the Rose Garden candle from Scentiment Candle Company for being a part of their Candle Review Team. This in no way affects my opininos. They are always 100% honest, and true to my personal taste.
