Ginger's Fashion: Turning Twenty Seven

Last week, I turned the big 2-7!

I am now officially in my late 20s.

I always have mixed feelings when I know my birthday is coming up. One half of me is really excited to be getting older. With each year I feel more mature, wise....like I can conquer the world that little bit more. But on the other hand, getting older means more responsibility and more having to act like a grown up.....

...Even though I think I am quite mature, there are times when I still act like a big kid!

I had already had my big birthday night out on the 3rd January with the Boy, Sarah, & her other half (you can see my OOTN/FOTN post here.) So on my birthday, the Boy & I went out for a romantical dinner for two at our new-discovery of a restaurant - Yukti.

But not before I was woken up in the morning to the sound of party poppers and several whoops of glee from the Boy as I jumped out of my skin!

Because we were going out shortly after I got in from work, I wanted to keep my outfit quite simple. I picked up this skater dress from Primark a few weeks ago. It was a bargain at £5, and the shape is really flattering. Whenever Primark bring out a new design of skater dress, I go and pick one up straight away because they are so versatile.

I didn't want to do heels, but decided on a pair of wedged furry ankle boots I'd picked up from New Look in the Autumn. They have unbelievable grip, and are super-snuggly and comfortable. I haven't had a chance to wear them loads yet, but I can see them being my go-to boot when I'm looking for a "casual-but-you-can-dress-them-up" shoe.

This birthday was so amazing and special that I didn't want it to end. I'm already planning to have a "Queen Birthday" in July....exactly 6 months after my January birthday....so that I can keep up this excitement.

Thank you to everybody who made my birthday so fabulous!

Ginger's Jollies: Living Crafts for Christmas at Blenheim Palace

Collage Created Using PicMonkey

It is not that often that I take he train journey down South. My life up here is so jam-packed nowadays that I find it really hard to get away. And I am also now of an age where I am no longer eligible for a railcard, so train tickets can be a touch on the expensive side. So now, I save up going down for something really special.

Two years ago, me, MG, and Saunders took a road trip to the Living Crafts for Christmas event. Held in the building and grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, the event plays host to lots of lovely stalls selling arts, crafts, jewellery, clothing, food, drink, and lots of festive goodies.

This year, we decided to return, and on Saturday morning we all jumped in to the car and away we went.

The event this year did not disappoint. The stalls were all beautiful, and the atmosphere was buzzing with cheer and festive electricity. There were Christmas songs being played, the palace had its trees up, and I had my first mulled wine of the season (Yes, I know it's NO-vember, but I allowed myself the day off because I LOVE mulled wine.)

I picked up some gorgeous little Christmas gifts, and made the wonderful discovery of chocolate-cheese. I came back up home feeling incredibly jolly and in the Christmas spirit. I'm already marking the event in my diary for next year. If you love home-made goodies, pretty things, tasty things, Christmas, or even just being out in the countryside, you should definitely look this event up too. It's one not to miss out on.

Did anybody else go to the event this year?

JustAddGinger on Facebook

Hello

Time for another quick update in the world of Ginger.

This is something I have been toying with for a while, but with GFC about to be taken away, I needed a few different ways to keep everybody who wants to read my blog updated with the latest posts and snippets of news that's going on.

If you read my last update post (you can find it here if not), you'll know that I am on Bloglovin', so when GFC says goodbye to the world, I will be reachable there, but with Facebook being a huge social networking platform, it seemed logical to make an appearance there too!

My new Facebook address is:

http://www.facebook.com/JustaddGinger

You should see a thumbnail of the picture above when you search for the page.

I'll post on there to let you know when any new post goes up from my blog or YouTube channel. I'll also post little bits of news or updates. (I know I've been a bit AWOL lately, but I have had a million things going on, and sometime juggling is a bit tricksy! I'll be having time off soon though, so will be back on a more regular basis.)

I'd love it of you wanted to head on over to my new page and give me a "Like" to stay updated.

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

H is for Happy Birthday Blog

H: Happy Birthday Blog

My blog is turning 1 year old this month!!

Happy Birthday Blog!!

A year ago I sat down and thought, "I miss blogging." I had just come out of an MA so didn't want to do any intense writing....just a little hobby. Something I could have and write as much/as little as I wanted, and when I wanted. I had started a blog in the past, but nothing really came of it because I hadn't found my voice. This was the perfect opportunity to start up again...I never imagined how much I would fall in love with blogging!

I love having a place to share things with the world: fashion, recipes, writing, beauty reviews.....it's so lovely having a place to come and just write about anything I want, and just escape into a world of Ginger-ness!

I've done so much in a year, and I think this is partly due to the confidence having a blog has brought me....I now write for GeeksUnleashed.me , I have started a YouTube channel, and I'm not afraid to put myself out there a bit more and just be me. JustAddGinger is so much more than a blog....it's my baby, and I really enjoy nurturing it and watching it grow!

Happy 1st Birthday Blog! This year will be SPECTACULAR!!!
